About Sue Orsillo, PhD

Sue Orsillo

I’m a psychologist, author, and education leader who cares deeply about helping people and organizations thrive. I provide evidence-informed, compassionate teletherapy and design and deliver engaging keynotes, webinars, and workshops that help leaders and teams build psychological flexibility, loosen worry’s grip on their lives, and turn their values into consistent action. I specialize in helping individuals and organizations address chronic worry, stress, and burnout in high-pressure environments.

My work is grounded in decades of psychology education leadership, from serving as a full professor and directing both clinical training and undergraduate studies to leading national initiatives as Head of Education at the American Psychological Association. At APA, I led National Science Foundation–funded efforts that brought educators, training councils, and institutions together to strengthen pathways and outcomes across U.S. psychology education.

My scholarship includes more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and several widely-used books on acceptance- and mindfulness-based approaches to anxiety and behavior change. I’m especially energized by helping clinicians and educators apply these ideas in real-world settings where people live, learn, and work.
